THE EMPLOYERS' ATTITUDE.
SYDNEY, March 7. At the conclusion of the meeting of the Newcastle colliery owners to-day, the following communication was made to the Press. "The proprietors were asked by the Employees' 'Federation to state how many men at present were employed m the mines, and if they were unionists. What the Federation really wants is that we should dismiss these men. That is precisely what we refuse to do. Those men came to our assistanco m time of trouble, and the meetin*' unanimously decided not to sacrifice them. We do not intend to budge an inch.
