THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CONDEMNED.
DUNEDIN, December 15. At tho Education Board's meeting the Eev. P. B. Fraser severely criticised the methods of the Education Department m refusing to pay hoi\r : :< allowance to, the teacher at * Hillend school. He said the Depar.tiient had been consistently alienating the support of public men, and the time:, -was perhaps not far distant when, if they could not get a change, some thirigs would at least get a change m the management of this Department. The Board were nothing but hewers of wood and drawers of water for the people m Wellington.
