HALLEY'S COMET.
Per Press Association —Copyright; LONDON, December 15. Halley's comet' is exhibiting notable fluctuations. Its brightness was of the tenth magnitude m November, and a fortnight later was of the twelfth magnitude. A telegram from Auckland states that Mr H. J. Evans, the local observer, located Halley's comet at 11 o'clock on Tuesday night, by means of , a telescope with a 3-inch object glass.
