LAND SETTLEMENT IN AUSTRALIA.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 23. Mr H. D. Buchanan, of Palmerston North, returned from Australia by the Warrimoo. He speaks highly of the prospects of land settlement m New South Wales. Three New Zealand settlers who went for the specific purpose of spying out the land state that they are going to sell up thoJH New Zealand property and settle m Australia, Mr Buchanan himself is not doing so, but states that land is cheaper there, the labour problem less apute, and there is less State interference and tagajiion.
