Arrangements are being made for the employment of some 600 unemployed on bushfelling and road works, including 100 from the Auckland district on the' Gisborne railway, 100 on the Stratford-Ongaruhe railway, 100 from Wellington on other railway works, 100 from Canterbury on the Broken Itiver section of the Midland railway, 20 on the Catlins river railway, 40 on the Nelson end of the Midland railway, and additional hands on the Dunedin-Mosgiel duplication Altogether about 250 bushfellers are required, and the qualified applicants number 190. Preference is given to married men. i
