THE DELEGATES AT GLASGOW.
Per Press Associate *—Copyright. LONDON, June 22. The delegates were the guests of the Glasgow Corporation. They inspected the North^ British locomotive works, employing 8000 men, and then joined the ladies of the party m a steamer trip on the Clyde. The Lord Provost' and many Glasgow notabilities were aboard. The party visited the Fairfield yard, where the Australians, with Captain Collins, boarded an Australian destroyer on a standing keel and cheered the Australian future navy. Continuing the cruise, they viewed the Clyde yachting carnival. -'*.■!'. The delegates attended at the University m the afternoon, when the Vice-Chancellor conferred honorary degrees on six delegates, attired m scarlet robes, m Bute Hall, m the presence of a large gathering. He referred to the degrees as a tribute rendered to the British Press throughout the world. Mr Macdonald (Toronto) thanked the University. _ , : In the evening a corporation dinner was held m the City Chambers. .
