After discussion, it was decided to take steps to secure the Oddfellows' Hall for the purpose of a boxing tournament on September 15 and 16, .the dates of the Ashburton llacing Club's spring "meeting. ' It was decided to instruct the secretary to write thanking" the judge, referee, and Messrs K. "Meechan and "T. )jl! Gibson 'for acting m connection with the receiit touriiament, and " to Messrs J, C, $, trrigg and M. iStitt for trophy and donation. An honorarium of hye guineas was voted to the 'secretary (Sir W. H. Little). The secretary presented a financial statement, which showed that the taKings at the tournament amounted to £3 IJ 6s 6d j members' subscriptions, £23 Is; other amounts, £2 12s—making a total of £65 10s m the way of revenue, while the expenses amounted to £42 9s lOd, leaving a credit balance of £23 Tb'j's yy.as considered very satisfactory.
