RANGITATA ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Rangitata Road Board was held at Lismore on Thursday last. Present—Messrs J. A. Fleming (chairman), W. J. Allan, J. Barton, J. Dellow and T. Tarbotton. The Returning , Officer notified the election of Mr Dellow as a member of the Board. It was resolved to endeavour to arrange terms for letting a reserve at Baling and clearing gorse from the same;, also to arrange for a new policy when insuranco on the building fell due. Mr Barton was authorised to see if any. agreement could be come to with an occupier: as to clearing gorse, etc., on a reserve at Ruapuna. Messrs Fleming and Barton were appointed to represent the Board at the conference for the discussion of local government. Mr Dellow was authorised to enquire into the matter of a fence across a road, and as to whether there was any necessity for its removal. The clerk was instructed to request tho County Council to remove some pino trees from the frontage of the Mayfield-Rangitata Bridge road near Ivlr Elnislio's. It was resolved that tho stones bo cleared out of the pits on the LismoreMayfield road as soon as possible, and that some small repairs in various places bo done. N. Fitzgerald's tender for forming Ruddenklau's road was accepted, subject to his agreeing to continue tho work for about 40 chains towards Baling. It was resolved to call tenders for re-forming tho sides of Mayfield-Rangi-tata Bridge road, from Mayfield to Hall's corner, and also that tho next work taken in hand be the formation of Carter's road between the Lismore smithy and ReddccliflVs, and the shingling of Mayfield-Lismoro road j from Hackthorno road to Lismore | school. | An account of £3 9s was passed, and the Board adjourned till July 29.
