PRESBYTERIAN LITURGY.

Per Prees Association. AUCKLAND, Juno 8. At to-night's meeting of the Auckland Presbytery the committee appointed to report on the Litiirgy of the church recommended as suitable to express the mind of the church m the conduct of public worship, "a new directory for the public worship of God, founded on the Book of Common Order (1560-1564) and the Westminster Directory (1643-1645) and prepared by the Public Worship Association of Scotland." The committee stated that this work was of special value because of its copiousness and suggestiveness. It contained a minimum of set forms with a wealth of devotional phrases from Holy Scripture, and the most approved masters m the art of prayer. In conjunction with this book there might be used with great profit the "Anthology of Prayers for Publjc Worship" issued by the Church Worship Association of the United Free Church of Scotland m 1907, which contained prayers for ordinary and special occasions culled from the best devotional writings of the Christian centuries. The report was adopted, with but one dissentient.
