SUPREME COURT SESSIONS.
Per Presa Association^ WANGANUI, June 8. The Supreme Court sessions opened this morning. Judge Chapman m his charge to the. Grand Jurors, congratulated them on their duties which would be light. After referring to several criminal cases, His Honour'dealt .with ihe case of alleged, murder m which three distinct charges were grouped m 6ne X G^arlick being charged with attempting .to , murder Chatfield,.., with attempting to terrify the latter's wife, and with attempted suicide. 'The two men had been/. ;m. company with each other, and Garlick, in-an excited state, had said' that Chatfield . was killed, and that he (Garlick) had chucked 3um over into y the river.... Chatfield's tody was subsequently found on the river bank;: He had evidently been ■dragged across the "road to; the ..'river.,, v. : ."'' . ' ' ' ' ■ ' '■ ' * ':' '
