Archbishop Clarke has declined a request from the Council of Churches, to set apart a Labour Sunday for.sermonq to be devoted to social and economic questions, on the grounds that the judgment of the Church upon the whole question is contained m the diocesan report, and the whole of the annual commemoration of Christian faith arid duty is set forth m the Prayer Book.. . . • MOTOR OAR ACCIDENT. A motor car,, getting out of control, jumped a drain 20 feet wide and 15 feet deep, and then fell back and was • smashed. The two occupants, Dudgeon, a stepson of Agar Wynne, and Duffy, son of Frank Gavan Duffy, each had a leg broken, besides receiving other injuries.
