Per Press Association. \ AUCKLAND, June 7. . In the Supreme Court, Rees NichoK son, a resident of Whitianga, was .charged with having unlawfully received and detained a telegram and two Setters addressed to Miss Marie George. It appeared that the defendant received tetters addressed to Miss George, <to itlie care of Nicholson, opened them, :and left them lying about. He made no :attempi to re-direct them or to return them to itli© Post Office, though hej 'Sinew ilia* they were misdehvered,' •there being another Nicholson resident <m the locality, with whom Miss 'George was staying. Mr Justice Edawards imposed a fine of £50. Henry Terawhiti, a MaojJ, was found •guilty of perjury with it stro-ag recom'iriendatiori to mercy, and was reminded itij} .to-morrow for sentence.
