HIGHBANK.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) • The-adjourned parish meeting of the Anglican Church at Highbank was held m the schoolroom on Monday last. The vicar (Rev. R. H. York) was m the chair, and there was a large attendance of parishioners . Votes of thanks were passed to the outgoing church-wardens and vestry; to the Sunday school teachers; the organist, M|s Ward; and to the School Committee" for,use of schoolroom. Mr C. H. E, Graham, secretary to the Church Building Committee, reported 'that promises of donations amounting to nearly^ £350 had been made towards the erection of a church. . A short discussibn followed, the whole of those present expressing their determination to build the church free of debt. . The vicar re-appointed Mr A. K. Callaghan as his church-warden, and Mr v. H. E. Graham was re-elected people's warden. ■ :. The following gentlemen were elected as a vestry: Messrs HI Ward, J. Brawley, F. Richards. V. Rouse, G. Pritchard, G. Stockdill, G. deeve, T. Oeeve, W. Keeley and W. Ross. A ladies' committee was also appointed to co-operate with the vestry m the arrangements for fitting and furnishing the new church. This concluded the business of the meeting, and the following short ■ musical programme was rendered: Part son^, Mrs and the Rev Mr York and Mrs and Mr Graham; song, Mrs Ward:, recitation, Mr C. H. E. Graham; vocal duet, Mrs and Miss Graham; Yorkshire reading, Mr -Horsfield; vocal duet, Mrs Graham arid Miss A. Jeff; song, Mrs Pritchard. A vdte of- thanks to the "ladies': for providing refreshments was carried with acclamation.
