FIRE AT RANGIORA
_ CHRISTCIIURCH, June 5. Fires m Rangiora have been frequent of late and another, which occurred at 4 o'clock this morning, isj giving rise to a suspicion of incendiarism. The outbreak, as on previous occasions, occurred m an unoccupied building, this time m the centre of the town, and four shops and a small office were destroyed. Insurances: Scott's buildings, £375 m the Royal Office; Ball's stock, £250 | m the Victoria, and £40 m the Stani dard; Evans' premises, £150 m the State; Carter's stock, £150, also m the State. , ■ The loss is considerably over the insurance.
