ASHBURTON, SATURDAY, JUNE 5. HAVELOCK STREET MART. Mr H. Stephenson reports a good attendance at his weekly sale, and a large entry of stock and produce, which was cleared at the following rates: Poultry—Hens, Is 6d to Is lOd per pair; roosters, 2s 6d- per pair; purebred roosters, 2s 6d each. Pigs,—Weaners, 12s 6d to los. Cattle—Springer, £3 10s. Produce.—Oatsheaf chaff, 2s 3d to 2s 9d per sack; wheat 7s to 15s per sack; barley (seconds), 9s 6d per sack; potatoes (table), 5s to 7s; oats (seconds), 6s per sack; onions, 2s 3d to 2s 6d per small bag, pickling do., Is 6d per small bag: carrots, 2s to 2s 6d per sack; Swedes, 2s per sack; cauliflowers, 4d each; cabbages, 2d each; pickling cabbage, 2d each. Meat, —Mutton, 2d per lb; lamb, 3£d; bacon, 7d. • ■■. Fruit.—Apples. 2d per lb.
