EXPLOSION ON THE EMPREZA.
AUCKLAND, March 1. Mr Sinclair, the chief officer of the barque Empreza, which arrived at Kaipara Heads from Sydney <m Sunday, reports that on February 22 an explosion occurred m the ship's magazine, containing blue lights, detonators and other combustibles. Captain John Bushell was so badly burned and otherwise injured that he was confined to bis berth. The chief officer brought the vessel into port.
