31ETHVEN STOCK SALE.
Lhe fortnightly sale was held at the Methven yards on Thursday. There was a very large entry of sheep and lambs, about 12,000 m all, and the attendance of fanners and dealers was good. Store lambs were not bringing such high prices as were ruling at last sale m these yards, and showed an all round drop of about Is Gd per head. Consequently several lines failed to find buyers at auction, and were passed m. The following were some of the prices: 227 store lambs 12s lOd, fat ewes 10s 9d, 8 store lambs 10s Id. 15 two-tooth ewes 14s. On account of Mr Hainish McLean, Mount Hutt station, 320 twotooth ewes 16s lOd to 17s 6d ; on account of Mr W. Nosworthy, M.P., 717 halfbred store lambs 8s 7d ; on account of Mr D. W. McLean, Mount Hutt, 670 halfbred store lambs 10s 6d; on account of same owner, 307 wethers 13s lOd, 906 breeding ewes los 8d; on account Lako Coleridge station, 50 ewes at 17s 6d. 59 sound-mouthed ewes 12s 6d.
