NAPIER, February 24. Ihe Council to-day decided to hold the next aiimial meeting of the branch m Wellington, and Dr J. It. Purely president of the Wellington division^ was unanimously chosen as presidentelect, for the ensuing year. In the afternoon there was a largo attendance at the "At Homo" given by Mrs Hernan. The Conference resumed m the evening, when papers were read. The proceedings were not open to the Press. The annual conference of the New Zealand Branch of the British Medical Association was continued to-day. The report, and balance sheet m connection with the benevolent and .sick funds were adopted, and the retiring officers was appointed to confer with the Federated Chemists' Association of New Zealand with a view to remedying the abuse of continued repetitions of prescriptions containing narcotics and other powerful drugs. It was decided that only papers contributed by members of the Association should be nublished m the New Zealand Medical Journal. In the afternoon members of the Conference visited the Grassmere Orchard, Hastings, as guests of Mr K. H. Williams. Papers were read at the evening sitting. ' i
