ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
WELLINGTON, February 25. Mr J. Wakelin, who met with a tram accident last night, died m the hospital this morning. TIMARU, February 20. An inquest was held at the Courthouse yesterday afternoon by Mr C. A. Wray, Coroner, touching the death of Alice Collins, an elderly widow who was found dead m bed at her home m Theodocia street on Monday morning, and the Coroner returned a verdict m accordance with the medical evidence, that death was due to acute peritonitis. A man named W. Boyd, employed at the Canterbury Farmer* 1 Co-operative Association's wool stores, was rather badly hurt yesterday morning. He was receiving wool m a truck from a hoist, when one of the bales swung against him and knocked him out of the truck. He struck the buffer of the truck as he fell, and received a nasty cut m the back of his neck, and a broken collar-bone. DUNEDIN, February 25. The body of John Deianey, a. farm worker who lived near Kaitangata, was found m the Molyneux River yesterday. The man had been missing for four or five days. ,
