FARMERS' UNION.
PAHIATUA, February 22. At a meeting of the local branch of the Farmers' Union, the Hon. A. W. Hogg's recent statement as to Ins being favourable to a State issue of money was adversely criticised. It was resolved that the farmers are opposed to any "wild-cat" financial scheme which would have the probable effect of creating a financial crisis. A copy of the resolution is to be forwarded to the Colonial Executive. It was considered that the milk standard, as fixed by the Health Department, was unnecessarily high and difficult to obtain.
