MAORI BY-ELECTION.
WELLINGTON, February 22. Hone Piri Piri, of Wellington and' & native of Hokianga, where his father ■was a Maori school teacher for many years, will be a candidate for the Northern Maori seat at the by-election, made necessary by the death of Hone Heke. He will stand as an Independent Liberal.
