WELLINGTON. February 20. The Minister of Education, when seen with reference to the Press Association message from Ohnstchurch regarding the delay in the issue ot free school hooks, said the Department is not responsible for the delay or the trouble. The Boards seemed to think (■hey had to pay ordinary retail prices which was not at all necessary. /When the Boards gained, experience in the matter not so much would be heard nboiit the insufficiency of the amount. If a child wished to take a hook home, if; was fair that the parent should pay for the book. If necessary, the fumigation of books could easily be carried out.
