The following paragraph is from the Western Morning News of the date mentioned —Friday, November o, IiJUS: The death took place at Paignton on Monday of the Uev. William Edward Paige,'M.A., Merton College, Oxford, son of the late Rev. M. T. Paige, who was curate-in-charge of Islington for 33 years. Mr Paige was ordained deacon' in 1859, and priest in 1860, by the late Bishop Phillpotts, and served his first curacy at St James-the-Less, Plymouth, under Rev. J. Bliss. In 1881 he went to Antigua, West Indies, where, he-served until 1863 as chaplain of the <mol asul head master of the Grammar School. For the last three years of that period he was also incumbent of All Saints, Antigua. Returning to England in 186S he served for two years as curate of Harberton, Devon, then going as incumbent of Prebbleton-eum--1 Templeton, New Zealand, until 1875. From 1870 until 1880 he was in charge of the parish of Ashburton, New Zealand, and from that time until he left New Zealand, in 1894, he was incumbent of St. Matthew's, Masterton. Then he acted as a deputation for the S.P.G. until 1899, when he was licensed as a preacher in the diocese of Exeter. He was also for several years in succession acting chaplain at Copenhagen. During his latter yoar-s, he settled at Paignton, frequently giving his serviPP-8. which were highly valuod, in the parish church. There ho had many friends; who will mourn his loss very' deeply. Mr Paige, who was 72 years of age, x;n& married in 1860 to Miss Compton, who survives him.
