FIRES.
DUNEDIN, August 10! Messrs Cockburn Bros.' homestead at Te Houka, near Balclutha, containing seven rooms, was burned to the ground. The building was insured for £100 in the London and Lancashire Office, but there was no insurance on the furniture and effects, all of which were destroyed.
