SYDNEY, July 30.;. A murder has taken place ab Quirindi. George Tofft, while under the influence of iiquor, visited the homo ofhis sweetheart, a girl named Fletcher, I hoy quarrelled. He induced the girl to accompany him to tho rear of the house, where he shot her twice, aiid_ in addition battered in her head. Meeting >n acquaintance, Tofft said that he had kno for Miss Fletcher and added that ho wanted to kill her father ,then have a feed and do for himself. Tofft is missing. .
