WHAN^GAREI, July 29
In the Kinpaka coal mine on Satui • day, a line of skips by some means became detached from the cables, and dashed down an incline, .and overwhelmed a young man named William Bentall, who was working at the bottom. His wrist was broken, and his head much cut, and other injuries were inflicted, from which ho died in the Hospital
NAPIER, July 29
A man named William Henry Mooney, aged 76 years, was found drowned in the inner harbour this afternoon. He was a widower, and had been rather strange in his manner since the death of his wife, about a year ago. DUNEDIN, July 29. A man named Joseph Moore, a miner, was found drowned in a deep stream at Middlemaroh this morning. DUNEDIN, July 30.
At the inquest on William Brown, who was buried by a fall of earth at the site of tho Presbyterian College, North-East Valley, on the 25th inst;, a verdict of accidental death, with no blame attachable to anyone, was returned.
