Thousands Killed.

St Petebsbitbg, Sept 8 Thousands of armed Tartars suiround the Christian workmen at Baku. The Governor has telegraphed to St. Petersburg that the troops would be overwhelmed unless relieved. A desperate attempt made by the military camp to provisiondepots atßalakhany was repulsed, and thousands of assailants killed.
The Tartar rising completely surprised the authorities. It is believed to be connected with a carefully planned Separatist movement founded by Turkish emissaries. The peasantry are rising in many parts of the Caucasus, and attacking the nobles' estates. » '■
