United Press Association—Hy Eleotric Telegraph Wellington, Feb. 3 Alfred Crossey, an ex-publican/ was found guilty of theft from the person and sentenced this morning to two years' imprisonment. Dunedin, Feb. 3. Thetnas Gray, who had pleaded " guilty " m the Lower Court to a charge of indecent assault, was sentenced by Judge Williams this morning to eighteen months' hard labour. Wanganui, Feb. 3 At the Magistrates' Court this morning a well known settler was charged with neglecting to brand 600 sheep immediately after their being shorn. He pleaded " guilty," but stated/he was ignorant of the law. He was fined 3d per head, the Act providing for ft maximum penalty of 10s per head.
