Robbery Under Arms.
At the Christchuroh Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, Philip White appeared in answer to a charge that" on January 31st, 1905, at Christohurch, being armed with an offensive weapon, to wit a loaded revolver, he did rob one George Thomas White of four gold watches, valued at £49 10s, one rolled gold pencil case, valued at 3s 6d, and 30s in money." Accused was further charged as follows:—" That on January 31st 1905, at Christchurcb, he did attempt to murder one John ftuthrie;" "that on January 25th, 1905, at Christchnrch, he did break and enter the shop of one Frederick Thomas Pannell, and steal therefrom one bag value 10s, and twentythree watches and watch cases, value £15, the property of the said Frederick Thomas Pannell;" aiid further, "that on January 26th, 1905, at Christchurch. ho did break >and enter the dwelling-house of Leslie Samuel Manning by night, and steal therefrom one gold dress ring, one silver charm, one ,'gold and diamond brooch, value £27 10s, and £10 in money, the property of the said Leslie Samuel Manning." Accused was remanded for a week. While serving his time in Wellington Gaol, a short time ago, White escaped, but was captured again.
