Eeceived Feb. 1, 7.25 a.m. London, Jan. 31 Many distinguished men of letters, scientists, and artistp.Uncludiug Swinburne, Thomas Hardy, and George Meredith, have signed a protest against Maxim Gorky's threatened execution. The Grand Duke Vladimir, when interviewed, declared the Czar was resolute against granting a Constitution, though willing to concede proper reforms when all the disorder ceased. Vladimir believes that Father Gapon escaped through Finlaud. The New York correspondent of the " Daily Express " reports that a hundred Russian revolutionists equipped with bombs, left the United States during the last week for St. Petersburg. The assassination of the Czar and the Grand Dukes was openly advocated at a meeting of revolutionists held m New York.
