The usual meeting of tho Tinwald Town Board took plac« yesterday. . Present— Messrs C. Doheity (chairman), M. Lagan, J. A. Clothier, T. Scaly, and T. Williams. •

CORRKSfONDENCE. Correspondence was dealt with 48 under:—

From the Ashburton County Council, stating that the Council would consider the question of contributing to the maintenance of the main South Road, provided the Board furnished the Council with an annual statement of the monies expended. —Received.

It was resolved that the Council be written to, asking them to reconsider the matter of the maintenance of Archibald. Street, and to grant an annual subsidy^ Frpm th.c Governor?in-Couneil, appoint* Ing days for the destruction ot injurious birds.—Received. i From the Valuer-Qbnetal, forwarding a copy of "The Valuation, of Land^Aefc Amendment Act, 1901/<—-Received.
