Cattle totalled 215, «inch comprised a fair proportion of l>ri»ui» si tiers and heifers. The stile was a triile dragging, and prices were irregular, the market as ii whole being a shade easier. iMxteea steers realised from .£9 5s to .£l] VJs (id, other steers £6 10a to £10 Its. Heifers realised £~> 17s 6a to £9 7s Gd, cows J25 to £8 15s. Beef ruled from £1 to £1 4s (id per Li Olbs. Shkm'—Fat Lnuibfi.—The yarding was sinal'ter than usual, 2201, and the quality very mixed. There was a fairly keen inqnuy on tho part of export buyers, and the market was a shade firmer than the previous week, the range of prices being— Tegs from 15s Id to 15s lOd, freezers from 13s to 14s 9d, others from 11s 6d to 12s 9d. Store Sheep -The yardiug numbered 8656, including a largo proportion of wethers. The bulk of the entry was from the Chathatns, North Island, and Kelson districts. The abundance of feed available made farmers keen to purchase, and all classes sold readily at prices fully equal to late rates. Prices ranged for ewes from 9s Id to 17s 10J, wethers 13s to 16s lOd, lamb 38s to 11s td. Fat Sheep—The entry was not large, and comprised vaaied sorts, including a fbw pens of very prime quality. The range of prices was—Best wethers 18s to 225, lighter l(ss 6d to 17s 3d, merino wethers 12s Id to 15s, best ewes 15s 6$ to 19s 9d, lighter 10s 7d to Ha 7d. Pigs—There -was a fair entry, with a good demand for fats. Baconers realised from 14s to 55s 6d, equal to 4£d per lb, porkers from 35s to 34a, equal to 5Jd par lb. Stores were rather neglected, and sold at the following rates :—Large 25s to 30s, medium 18s to 255, weaners 8s to 14s.
