Sensational Evidence.
United Press Association—Hy Electric Telegraph- Copyright Stdnet, Jan. 26 Woodford, when arrested, confessed that prior to the murder of Constable Long, the other two arre3tees visited the hotel, and ho gave them au impression of the key of the safe. Woodford, Digby Grand, and Yeomans were to-day charged with murdering Constable Long. The witness gave sensational evidence m reference to the conversation amongst accused, and a fourth man who is not yet arrested, whereat arrangements were made for a number of burglaries, including the hotel where Constable Long, was murdered, and utilising a racing mare for conveying the spoil. The witness alleged that he was asked to take a hand xn the burglaries, but declined. His evidence is unfinished. The police seized the racing mare, and ascertained that the owners lent it to Grand, a companion, on the night of the murder.
