DIFFICULTY WITH THE PEARL SHEILLERS
— ■■■» : Thursday Island, October 26 Serious difficulty has arisen with the pearl shelters at Waiwera Island. A hundred and twenty^four men en camped there resisted the police m an endeavor to arrest seven of their number for breach of regulations. As the men are armed, a detachment of the defence force will probably be sent frcm here, Brisbane, Ootober 27 Troops landed at Waiwera Island and arrested the men who were wanted.
