: + Shanghai, October 25 Japan hag again refused to entertain peace proposals unless her successes are recognised, and it is said the Chinese are willing to agree to this. The Chinese killed in the battle at Ping Yang, some time ago, are still uaburicd, and the sanitary condition o£ Corea is reported to be terrible. It is rumoured that an engagement has taken place between the opposing forces in the vicinity of Port Arthur. Tokio, October 25. Three thousand houses were destroyed, and 260 lives lost by the recent earthquake. The expedition which left Hiroshima this week landed at Seikioso. The Japanese operating in Northern i Corea have crossed the Yalu.
