IRRIGATION.
. TO THE JtDITOR. Sir -I notice that in Mr Baxter's report on irrigation matters tn the County Council at their last meeting, he stated that Mr Allan, the manager cf Acton, is now favourable to irrigation. Now, as I am not partial to men who i change their faith, 1 had just began to furbish up my blade for the pnrpo c of having another set-to with Mr Allan. But I fortunately met that gentleman a few days »go at the Tinwald yards, and 1 learned from him there that he has travelled through several countries where irrigation is practised since I saw mm last. So, for the time being. I intend to turn my sword into a pruning hoot, ask Mr Allan, as a favour to th« whole farming community of the county, to give us, through your columns, a det^, account of what he has seenm the several countries where he has travelled, bearing upon the question of irrigation I need not say w* will all feel grate*ul to him and to you, should you agree to give this Important matter publicity.~* *™' *tC '»
