News from South America states that a plot has been discovered to seizt President Nunez of Columbia. Many arrests have been made in consequence. Sir E. C. N. The Collector of Customs reports I that all the Chinese arriving in Sydney aro satisfactorily accounted for. He also sues the contractors for £2,000,000. Schmidt, a farm laborer, in consequence of a long standing feud, deliberately shot a fellow servant named FroKck dead, and then attempted suicide. It is unlikely that he will recover. The tragedy occurrsd near Melbourne. Schmidt after shooting Frolick, bombarded his employer's bouse, and repeatedly discharged shots at various other rooms.
