Addington Stock Market.
Christchukch, May 10. The weather was bitterly cold for the market, and the attendance was poor. Store Sheep—About 500 were yarded, the quality was somewhat mixed, and the demand for anything bat really useful sheep was poor, while forward sorts and good breeding ewes sold at about last week's ntes. Fat Sheep—Only about 2500 were on offer, and the quality was rather ureven. Really prime mutton kept up its price in spite of the block at the factories, the small supply being mostly secured by thi local butchers. A line of large framed enssbred full mouthed wethers from the Clatham Isles brought 15s 4d to 15s lOd, and tnQth.er, of four and [six-tooth from 12e 6dto 14s. Smaller aorts and half finished sheep were rather dull of sale. Pat Lambs—A very small entry, aid only one or two pens were anything ike good quality. These sold at fair rates. Fat Cattle—About 100 head oi cattle occupied the fat pens, consisting mo3tly of cow beef, which sold at abouji 1^ wejefe'?, prices. Sipjii? Catolk— rJPher.e was a largo entry pj store cattle, and the sale was irregular. Pigs—About 400 pigs were entered, the majority small b&eonera and porkers which had to submit to a decided drop, whilst stores and small pigs sold about last quotations.
