Mr John G Kestatl (in conjunction with the Nev Zeiland Loan and Mercantile Agency Coiroany; Limited) reports for the week eiriing May 10 :—At the Ashburton yards o: Tiesday, May 9, the entry waß small, bfc the business done was much more satisfactory than it the previous market. The attodance was up to average, including sevral local buyers. The total entry comprise! 3647 Bheep, 14 head of cattle, and 9 pigs. Our entry comprised 489 sheep. Store tro-tooth and cros«bred sold up to 14s 4d aged crossbred ewes in lamb, 10s 9d; ensbred hmbs, 8s 3d to 11s sd—the latter pee we obtained for a very fine line of crosbred hoggets sent forward by Mr Isaac argent, of Ashburton Forks. A large lis of freezers were passed. Our sales were—37 crossbred lambs, lls sd; 200 halfbred laibs, 10s 9d; 61 half bred lambs, 9s Id. Durie the week we have sold privately 700 cwsbred lambs, lla;. 1000 halfbred lambs, 0s 6d; 700 merino wethers, 3s ; 212 merino /ethers, 3s 6d.
