ROAD BOARDS.

UPPER ASHBURTON.

The usual monthly tnsetiug of the Upper A&hburton Road Board was held in the Board's office, West street, Ashbur ion, on Monday, April 24. Present —Messrs McLean (chairman.) Harper, Sargent, Campbell and Tucker. COKKESPQNBEKCE The following correspondence was reads -From tho South Rakaia Road Board forwarding account for small work done by them in this district. From the District Land and Survey Office, Chri tc'iarch, requesting the Board to forward for the information of the Surveyor-General a return showing the locality, length, width, and description of all road or water supply works executed by them out of thirds and fourths, authorised and paid over by the Land Board from April 1, 1892, to March 31, 1893.--The Clerk was instructed to torward the information. THIRDS AND FOURTHS. ( Resolved that the Clerk write the^ Commissioner of Crown Lands re the* procuring for this Board's information, a list of perpetual lease and deferred payment sections on which thirds or fourths are owing, and the amount due from each section to date. The Clerk was also instructed as to the amount that should be charged against perpetual lease and deferred ..payment sections for the financial year ending March 31. WORKS, Permission was granted by the Board to Mr Harper to have some small piece of work done in the upper portion of his district. TENDBBS. The tender of C. O'Connor was accepted (conditionally) for shingling Alford Forest Board from the Town Belt to the shingle pit (section 177), some 80 chains. PAYMENTS. ' Accounts amounting to £49 14s 8d were passed for payment, and the Board adinurned.
