The following is the Christchurch Corn Exchange report for the week ending April 29 (per George S. Rickman, secretary):—The week has been uneventful as regards the grain market. Wabat is still coming forward freely, and last week's prices are firmly maintained, and commands buyers' attention for filling up Home vessels on berth; but farmers are wanting more than offered, and are storing. Chick wheat, clean and dry, fetches good money. Oats, milling and good short feed fit for shipping, are in good demand ; but inferior sorts are dull. Long Tartars for need have had plenty of enquiry, but the season will soon be past for this year. Malting Barijky is in request for j prime lines, but T.edium quality is not bo much sought after. Indeed many maltsters now are only operating .in prime. The Grass Ssed Bowingteason isSfmost past, consequently prices are not so firm. Derwjsnt Potatoes are now commanding the chiet attention, and considerable quantities have Changed hands at 32s Qi for delivery off The fork, while ah advance can be obtained tor delivery in the succeding months. Qats, prime milling, Is lid ; Short prime feed, Is 9d ; ordinary feed, Is 8d j Tartarian, Is lid. Barley, prime (very scarce), 3s 3d to 4s; feed, 2s. Peas, blue Prussian (hand thrashed), 3=i Id t partridges, 2* lOd to * Hd J duns, 2s Bd. Beans, 2s lOd per bushel. Tares, 6s to 8s (wanted). Ryeerass, machine dressed, 3s 6d j farmers, 2s 9d.
