AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.

Messrs Macpherson, Sampson, and Co. report on their weekly sale, held at the Central Auction M-rt on Saturday, 23th September : —Tho attendance on Saturday was better than tho preceding week or two, and the competition for the things submitted was rather keener. The entries in some of the things generally brought forward were to a c rtain extent limited. The demand was more noticeable in poultry. Horses, £ll ; pigs, weanera, 3s 3d ; do, porkers, 6s 3d, 6s 9d ; poultry, turkeys, 5s 3d each ; ducks, 3s per couple ; fowls, 2s 6d. Produce—Danish oats, 2s per bushel ; chickwheat, 10s 6d per sack ; straw shall, Is per sack and £2 5a to £2 10s per ton ; early peas, Cd per quart ; cauliflower plants, 7d and 8d per bundle ; bacon, 4Jd to per lb ; ham, 5Jd to 7d per lb; mutt m hams, 4d per lb. Potatoes—The demand was very slight, and comparatively few were disp sed of at a decline of from 6d to Is per sack. The other lines of sundries were all disposed of to advantage.
