7 April 1851 From Waitangi To the surveyor, McLean Friend, Greetings. Friend, McLean, listen, there are two statements that I'm waiting for from you. I heard from Ngati Parau and Ngati Matetakutai that I requested money from you. Well, I am wrong. That ends that matter. Now, there was another statement that Araki Hanara and I made to Wiremu Akehera concerning the part that Hanara and I spoke of, on that April 1st 1850, when our discussion was settled. Hanara and Wiremu agreed to write down the two boundaries[?] - one for me and one for Wiremu. The statements in their letter to me were £9 for the area on which the houses stood; from Hanara £4.0.0, from Wiremu £8.0.0 [written underneath] 5.0.0.
