MEMORIAL UNVEILED.

CORPORAL E. S. HENRY. OEKEMONT AT ST. MATTHEW'B A brass tablet, in memory of CorporsJ E. S. Henry, late New Zealand Rifle Brigade, was unveiled at St. Matthew's Church yesterd&y during the morning service. The Rev. C. H. Grant Cowen mad* reference to tha sterling qualities of Corporal Henry, who, had been, an ardent : supporter of the church and always took f a keen interest in the welfare of its Eeople. Mr. Grant Cowen, at the close of - is address*, read an extract from a letter received by Mr. and Mrs. Henry from the Rev. C. W. B. Seton, who was chap-i lain in the New Zealand Rifle Brigade,! and now vicar of Raglan. The extract read: "He was a grand chap, and wss proving himself just what we all knew he was, and his death is greatly regretted in the battalion. Over here it has been felt all along that it really was a privilege to give one's utmost in the cause for which we were fighting, however hard that cause might, often seem to be,** The, tablet, whirh has been erected on thej south-west wall, is an graved as follows:) In sacred and loving memory of Corporal! Edward Sigthorpe Henry, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, who died of wounds, Octo-, ber 9, 1918, aged 29.years, buried at Bealencourt British Cemetery, France j " Until the day break. Blessed are the j pure in heart, for thy shall see God." Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Henry, their son and daughter, and the; Rev. j. H. Cable, vicar of St. George's Church. Kingsland, brother-in-law of. Corporal Henry. Mr. Cable preached the' sermon and assisted in the unveiling of j the tablet. Special music was played by the organist, Mr. Philpott.
