WIDER SETTLEMENT
PLEBISCITE IN DANZIG AMD CORRIDOR?

It is becoming apparent that Herr Hitler has accepted "in principle" a British suggestion for a wider European settlement than the Danzig and Polish Corridor issues.
It is assumed that Herr Hitler reiterates his demands for Danzig and the Corridor with emphasis on a new Anglo-German understanding. Herr Hitler apparently is ready to agree to the immediate application of the principle of self-determination in Danzig and the Corridor through a plebiscite. The entire Press carries inspired articles referring to the 1918 Lansing Note and President Wilson's Fourteen Points. The newspapers also declare: "The maintenance of the wrongs of the Versailles Treaty is not within the scope of the Western Powers."
