EVACUATION OF PARIS

PARIS, August 30.

The French military authorities have assumed control of all radio stations, from which a single national news bulletin will be issued. Three private stations have decided to close down.

The Government is to take over the entire French railway system tomorrow for military purposes. Traffic may be suspended entirely if the military authorities so decide.

The Government for the fourth time has requested the population to evacuate Paris. The communique tartly declares that civilians do not seem to understand the necessity for making the plans conform with the restricted traffic.

So far less than a third of the population has complied with the Govern-

ment's request,

Newspapers continue to stress the uncertainties of the situation.
