Wellington Senior Club Cricket ARMY BEATS HUTT Bowlers were in their element on wickets'drying after rain overnight when the Wellington Cricket Association’s senior championship competitions were continued on Saturday afternoon. In the first division, wins were recorded by Army, Kilbirnie, and Karori, who now lead for the championship with 45 points each. Alter dismissing Peto.ne for 29 runs in the first innings', Karori just failed to score an outright win by. one run, and in an exciting finish Kilbirnie beat Wellington College Old Boys by three runs on the first innings. In the second division, brilliant baiting by M. Thomas and deadly bowling by Meech and Blundell enabled Wellington to , score an outright win over Mid: land. The features of a drawn game at Kilbirnie recreation ground were a century for Institute Old Boys by R. Sheffield, and hurricane hitting by P. D. Wilson, who scored 61 in 20 minutes, for University. St. Patrick’s College Old Boys scored their first win since being promoted to senior rank by beating Johnsonville by 39 runs on the first innings.
