t FOR SERVICEMEN Lamb and quantities of green vegetables were on the menu at the A.N.A. Club’s cafeteria recently. It was crowded every day during meal hours. Members of the Victoria League, English-Speaking Union, and Air Force Relations assisted senior and junior A.N.A. helpers to prepare and serve meals and a group of Lower Hutt A.N.A. helpers served and helped pro vide supper on Friday Lamb and a cheese were received from Messrs. Freezing Co., and W. A. Illingworth Patea. Mrs. 11. M. Wilson, Hastings’ Miss Mexted, .Porirua. and the Lower Hutt, Paraparaumn, HaitaiLsi, and Khandallah W.W.S.A gardening sections, sent vegetables. The Manakau Patriotic Society, theManakau .Younger Set. and Public Service Women’" Tennis' Club, Army Dept . pei Mrs. G Miller, contributed cakes Ballroom extras were played in pro fessional style by Sapper D. Bcws ami Aircraftman A. Crabb, assisted by Pri vate Ted Caughley, at the weekend, and Misses Lillian Chalker and O Thompson provided extras during the supper adjournment. made specially attractive by two add! tions to the menu, which had been donated. A lamb had been sent from Marton, and a large bag of cabbages supplied by the Lower Hutt branch of the W.W.S.A.
Mrs 11. E. Avery was in charge of the helpers on duty yesterday, her assistants being Mesdames A'. E. Morley, J. H. Russell, H. Martin. H. E Wray, and Misses L. Avery, J. Martin, and J. Russell. Hostesses at. the Saturday tea dance, arranged by the National Union were Miss Josephine Russell and Mrs. R. Roberts.

A large audience of soldiers was en tertained at the Toe II Servicemen’!
Club yesterday when i series of films, lent by the Kodak Company, was screened. The main nail had been converted into a small theatre, a large screen being erected at the back of the stage, and. the necessary equipment provided by Mr. Casey. Voluntary Toe II helpers served supper after the screening, and community singing was also featured during the evening. At The Y.M.C.A. Mr. G. Briggs, who was recently invalided home from Y.M.C.A. service in England and Egypt, was chairman at yesterday’s Wellington Y.M.C.A. • sol- . diers’ tea. Mr. H. E. Brooker led community singing, and Messrs. B. Langman, C. Miles, J. Burt and Christie presented a varied concert programme.
Mr. R. Henry was at the piano. Hostesses and helpers included members of the ladies’ auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A.’s Boys’ Division, under the direction of Mrs. H. Brooker. Increasingly Popular. There was a large attendance at the Catholic Services Club, and club helpers were, delighted to receive a hamper from the Wellington South Hibernian Society. Flowers were also received and these decorated the rooms. Hostesses for the weekend were Mrs. Cane, of the' Hibernian Society, assisted by Mrs. Hale, Misses Kathleen Stevens, Pat. O’Halloran, Margaret Gore, Thora O’Neill and Norah Mclnerney. The club would appreciate a donation of easy chairs or a settee ! to help accommodate its weekend influx of army and air force visitors.
