AWARDS PRESENTED
Ceremony In Egypt
CAIRO, February 13.
Before a parade of the youngest infantry brigade group tn the New Zealand Division, Major-General Frey berg received the insignia of knighthood of the British Empire at a colourful military ceremony today at the Base Camp. General Auchinleck also presented decorations won during the campaigns in Greece, Crete, and Libya to 46 nurses, officers and men.
This was the first occasion in the history of the New Zealand Division in this war of awards being made to nurses at a military parade. The recipients were the matrons of two New Zealand military hospitals, who were decorated for distinguished services.
The decorations were as follows
