GIFT AMBULANCE

From Melbourne Firm

Funds totalling £650 hard been received from the directors and staff of the Centenary Woollen Mills Pty., Ltd., Melbourne, for the purpose of providing a fully-equipped ambulance for the use of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, announced yesterday. This gift had been actuated by the war weapons appeal made recently in New Zealand and the funds had been subscribed partly by the directors of the film and partly by the firm’s social club, Mr. Fraser said.

A branch of this firm trader in New Zealand under the name of Korma Mills, Limited, Auckland, and both the parent company and the local branch have been largely concerned in the production of war material. This very fine gift, added Mr. Fraser, had been very gratefully accepted by the New Zealand Government and the company had been informed that New Zealanders generally would be greatly interested in this material assistance to the war effort.
